Roadmap

ViewCounter is built to stay focused: accurate WordPress view tracking, useful reporting, and privacy-friendly analytics without sending your data to a third-party platform.

This roadmap highlights the areas we are actively exploring. It is not a fixed promise of delivery dates, but it does show where the product is heading.

Now

These are the areas currently being refined for the first public release.

  • Documentation: clearer setup guides, display examples, import notes, and developer references.
  • Website downloads: direct plugin download flow through view-counter.com.
  • License experience: smoother license activation, status messaging, and plan clarity inside the plugin.
  • Reporting polish: cleaner report screens, better export wording, and more useful summary data.

Next

These are planned improvements after the initial launch.

  • Enhanced reporting filters: easier filtering by post type, date range, author, and taxonomy.
  • Scheduled reports: weekly and monthly email summaries for site owners, teams, and clients.
  • Branded report exports: logo, company details, and footer text for client-ready reports.
  • Historical imports: expanded import windows for larger migrations and older analytics data.
  • Better onboarding: setup checks and recommendations based on caching and hosting configuration.

Later

These ideas are being explored, but may change as feedback comes in.

  • Multisite rollups: network-level reporting for agencies and multi-site publishers.
  • Webhook events: send view milestones or reporting events to external workflows.
  • WP-CLI tools: command-line helpers for imports, exports, recounts, and diagnostics.
  • Advanced alerts: notify site owners when posts spike, drop, or reach view milestones.
  • Public popular-content widgets: more flexible ways to display trending content on the front end.
